Taxi address card

Turn your hotel's local-language address into a big, clear card you can show a taxi driver, with a short request in their language and a one-tap map link.

Not sure where to find it? See how to get the local address below.

How to get the local address

Drivers need the address written the way locals write it, not a translation. Machine-translated addresses often point to the wrong place, especially in countries with their own address systems, like Japan or Korea. Here are reliable ways to get the real one:

  • Your booking confirmation. Many booking sites and hotel emails list the address in the local language as well as in English.
  • The hotel's own website. Switch the site to the local language and copy the address from the contact or access page.
  • Google Maps. Search the hotel, then change the app or browser language to the local language; the address under the name will switch to local script.
  • The front desk. Ask for a hotel business card when you check in. It works for every ride back.

Tips for using the card

  • Add the phone number. If the driver is unsure, they can call and ask for directions.
  • Show the map too. Many drivers recognize a pin faster than an address.
  • Save a card for each hotel on a multi-city trip, so you can pull it up offline once the page has loaded.
  • Turn your screen brightness up at night. The card stays on screen while it is open on phones that support it.

Common questions

Why doesn't the tool translate my English address?

Because a translated address can look right and still send you to the wrong place. The request phrase is translated for you, but the address itself should always come from an official local source.

Is my address stored anywhere?

Only on your device, and only if you tap Save. If you use the Share or Copy button, the address is included in the link you send.

Does it work without an internet connection?

The card works once the page is loaded, including cards you saved earlier on this device. The map link needs a connection.
